COVID 19 Procedures

UPDATE – Sunday 1st, August 2021

Further to the recent relaxation of COVID restrictions as announced by the UK government, we have amended our own COVID procedures. To ensure the safety of our staff and our Clients, PC Repair Leeds LTD have decided to continue wearing masks in our office and we encourage our Clients to do the same. We are now able to provide service in Clients homes and businesses although our staff will wear masks.

UPDATE – Wednesday 24th, February 2021

The UK Prime Minister has announced a 4 step plan to slowly easy COVID restrictions. Whilst lockdown continues, we are still able to provide service with minor changes only. We are still unable to work in our Clients homes but we are able to collect hardware when required. We can now also accept hardware “drop offs” at our office in Moortown. Please be mindful of our COVID routines as set out below. Thank you for your patience during this time.

UPDATE – Sunday 14th, February 2021

Since the last government announcement in January, the UK remains in lockdown. PC Repair Leeds LTD remain open and providing a “near” normal service. Whilst we are not currently working in our Clients homes, we can arrange a computer collection. If a Client does wish to drop their device off at our office, we can only accept hardware with a pre-booked appointment. We politely remind Clients that travel should be for “essential reasons only” and that it might be safer to book a collection.

UPDATE – Monday 12th, January 2021

Whilst PC Repair Leeds is able to continue providing service to our residential Clients, we must do our part in helping prevent the spread of COVID.The government has made it very clear that journeys from home should be for essential purposes only. Therefore, from today, our residential repairs will be operating under a collection & delivery service only, to prevent people making these unnecessary journeys to drop their devices off at our office.In usual circumstances, computers and laptops will be able to be collected the same or next working from your home and returned to you once the work is complete. There is a small charge for this service but you will be able to remain safe at home in compliance with the COVID guidelines.

UPDATE – Monday 4th, January 2021

The Prime Minister has today announced a national lockdown with immediate effect. Following advice as published on gov.uk/coronavirus, we are still able to provide service as normal, albeit with new exceptions. For the safety of yourselves and our engineers, we will currently only visit a Client’s home for the purpose of collecting and delivering hardware, remaining outside at all times. We will publish an update as this situation changes and are able to offer our full service again. Onsite business callouts will not be affected. Clients will still be able to deliver computers to our office but these must be done by appointment only. We remain committed to offering our high standard of service and support to our Clients throughout this 3rd period of lockdown, but we must all ensure we act responsibly in preventing the spread of COVID. UPDATE – Thursday December 31st, 2020

It has today been announced by the UK government that Leeds will remain in Tier 3, whilst neighbouring town Harrogate, has been raised to Tier 3 from Tier 2. PC Repair Leeds can confirm we are able to continue providing service at this time. In the event we enter Tier 4, service will be restricted. In the interim, we look forward to assisting our Clients with their IT issues but ask they strictly adhere to the procedures shown below. Like many businesses, we will be very glad to see the back of 2020. We would like to take this opportunity to thank our Clients of their loyal custom over the years and wish everyone a safe New Years.

UPDATE – Thursday December 23rd, 2020

Further to the announcement today by Matt Hanock, further parts of south England are moving up to Tier 4. PC Repair Leeds will continue to provide service to all of our nationwide Clients however we have adopted a very strict COVID procedure. At this time, Leeds is in Tier 3 and we are still able to accept laptops / computers from our Clients when delivered to our office. All hardware is sanitised on receipt and on return to the Client. During the holidays, we are operating a reduced level of service. Stay safe

The government has today advised Leeds will remain in Tier 3. As nothing has changed since our last update, we remain able to provide a full service to our Clients. UPDATE – Wednesday December 2nd, 2020

Leeds has today been moved to Tier 3 under current government guidelines. After checking all relevant and available regulations, we are pleased to confirm we are able to provide service as normal. IT Support has never been so important with many people now working from home and PC Repair Leeds is proud to help in these difficult times. UPDATE – Sunday November 1st, 2020

The UK government has announced on Saturday 31st October, a national lockdown starting Thursday, November 5th, 2020. We are able to continue providing service as normal as PC Repair Leeds supports critical care Clients in several industries. Due to restrictions, it may not be possible to attend a home or business if the Client is self-isolating. For all inhome / business appointments, we will now check to ensure it is safe for our staff to attend. UPDATE – Friday October 29th, 2020

Following the announcement today by the UK Government to place West Yorkshire into Tier 3 COVID restrictions, we have checked with Leeds City Council (see exemptions here) and we can confirm we are able to continue providing service to our Clients as normal. To enable us to ensure the safe wellbeing of our staff, please see the below COVID procedures we have put in place. UPDATE – Wednesday October 14th, 2020

Further to the “3 Tier” COVID system implemented by the Government, Leeds is currently in Tier 2. This allows us to continue providing service to all residents and business. As of this date, we are still able to visit Clients in their homes and businesses and we can accept hardware at our Moortown office. As and when events change, we will update this page.

UPDATE – Friday September 25th, 2020

Leeds City Council have today imposed certain COVID restrictions (see here). After checking all available information, we are satisfied we can continue providing service without interruption.

We will continue to ensure we operate a COVID safe office, our staff are fully protected with PPE, and we follow each individual Clients own COVID procedures.

In accordance with revised Government advice on the Coronavirus (COVID 19), we have continued to support our business and residential Clients throughout these difficult times.

Whilst we support the majority of our Clients remotely, there are times when we need to have the computer / laptop in our office. Up until May 10th, we were not able to call out to Client or have Clients attend our office. However, we are now able to provide a limited collection and drop off service.

Collection – If you need us to collect your computer, we can do this by appointment. To ensure the highest level of safety, we ask the below procedures are followed:

• Wipe the laptop / tower unit with anti-bacterial wipes. Please do the same with the power lead
• DO NOT put your laptop in a bag
• When we arrive, we will ring your phone and ask that you place the hardware on your doorstep. Please then go back inside and close the door.
• We will collect your hardware and take it to our office.
• Once the work has been carried it, we will wipe the computer with anti-bacterial wipes and reverse the above procedure.
• We are not able to provide a Hardware Receipt when we collect your computer, but you will receive a digital copy to your email

Drop-off – If you wish to drop your computer off at our office, this can be arranged by appointment. Please see the below procedures:

• Wipe the laptop / tower unit with anti-bacterial wipes. Please do the same with the power lead
• DO NOT put your laptop in a bag
• When you arrive at our office, please call our phone number.
• You can then leave your hardware at our back door
• If you can then move to the furthest point from the door, we will open the door and pick up your computer.
• We are not able to provide a Hardware Receipt when we collect your computer, but you will receive a digital copy to your email
• When the work has been completed, we will reverse the procedure.

At this time, we are  able to work in Client’s homes and businesses. However, specific COVID procedures will be adhered to, by our staff. These will be explained in fuller detail when you book a visit.

The safety of our staff and that of our Clients is paramount and whilst we aim to provide a full level of service, the above restrictions will remain in place until Government guidelines change.
